"The Art of Playing Trombone"

Click to buy in Amazon. This book by Edward Klienhammer of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra started it all for me, trombone wise.  This book, along with the guidance of David Ridge (current bass bonist for the SF Opera) really put air usage, embouchure and economization in perspective.

This is one is available hardcopy or digital for Kindle thru Amazon.  This is the first post I'm making to this feed (other than intro) for a reason!

An interesting choice for several reasons (I won't go into all of them here). If you get bored or feel more than usually adequate, go through it and make a daily routine of the exercises listed in each of the chapters. But don't try it if you have a gig coming within the next 36 hours. This book is a take-5-when-stranded-on-a-desert-isle book. So much there to absorb.

"But don't try it if you have a gig coming within the next 36 hours." - that's hilarious Bo, and SO TRUE!! I liked this text because it really is like an owner's manual for the trombone. I still do the warmup (MM=88) after almost 15 years!!
