Yes, yes - everyone has this on their respective lists. BUT - this is invaluable stuff, especially in terms of strict legato playing and breath control. Go ahead - I dare you to execute #6 flawlessly! When you're done with that, take the excercise through different clefs for a great range study. (Also a great clef study!) I usually do:
-Tenor Clef (take away a flat, as the key changes)
-Tenor Clef 8vB
-Straight up 8va
-Straight up 8vb
-Alto Clef

Click to buy in Amazon.This book by Edward Klienhammer of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra started it all for me, trombone wise. This book, along with the guidance of David Ridge (current bass bonist for the SF Opera) really put air usage, embouchure and economization in perspective.
