DOUG BEAVERS' TITANES DEL TROMBÓN

Doug Beavers' Titanes del Trombón carry the Afro-Cuban, Afro-Carribean and “Nuyorican” traditions by performing a gritty, swinging variety of salsa that is at once spontaneous and tightly executed, always leaving room for improvised and heart-pounding riffs that drive audiences to their feet. Their brand of energetic salsa is woven together in the fabric of Doug Beavers’ lushly arranged and orchestrated compositions and arrangements.

Doug Beavers, an Eddie Palmieri La Perfecta II alumnus and Grammy winner for his work on Palmieri’s 2006 release Listen Here, handles the work of steering the group's trail blazing arrangements and compositions.

The salsa group was recently selected an "Act not to miss at San Jose Jazz Festival 2011" by the San Jose Mercury News.  Andrew Gilbert writes:

"Trombone master Doug Beavers is a rising force in Latin jazz who's a triple threat as a soloist, arranger and bandleader. A product of the local scene (he studied with Dave Eshelman at Cal State East Bay, nee Hayward), Beavers earned a spot in jazz history when he played a crucial role in Eddie Palmieri's Grammy-winning revival of his trombone-powered La Perfecta ensemble. Championing his oft-overlooked horn with Titanes del Trombón, Beavers has assembled an all-star band featuring fellow 'bone experts Wayne Wallace and Abel Figueroa. With Bronx-raised Carlos Rosario providing the hard-hitting vocals, the Titanes deliver take-no-prisoners salsa dura."

"Titanes del Trombón" is Doug Beavers' next CD project, slated for release Summer '12.
